The Sector of Museums-Custodians of Panoramas and Dioramas

The Sector of Museums-Custodians of Panoramas and Dioramas is a nonprofit organization of the museums responsible to promote cooperation in the field of preserving and researching historic panoramas and dioramas in Russia. The Sector was organized and carries out its activities on the basis of the Regulations of the Sectors of the Union of Russian Museums.

INCREASE

of a larger number of members of the Sector.

CREATING PLATFORM

for communication of museum specialists and promotion of their professional interaction.

COLLECTING AND ANALYSING

of proposals for solving specific problems of the museums-custodians of panoramas and dioramas.

COORDINATION

of research and analytics, sharing of the best practices in the field of conservation, promotion and research.

OFFERING PROPOSALS

on making amendments in regulatory acts, which at the present time do not take into account particular requirements of the museums-custodians of panoramas and dioramas.

PROMOTION

of development and strengthening of cooperation between members of the Union of Museums of Russia (its' associate members) in the field of conservation, research and promotion of panorama and diorama art.

ORGANIZATION

of mutual advisory and methodological assistance between the museums-custodians of panoramas and dioramas, including the exchange of experience and information materials of mutual interest.

RECORD

of specific issues relevant for the museums-custodians of panoramas and its inclusion into state and municipal programs for the development of culture and museum work, in particular.

    To organize data on all known panoramas, dioramas, as well as drawings, sketches and studies for panorama-diorama paintings from the collections of Russian museums, archives, libraries, private collections.

    In this regard, send written request letters to a number of museums and other institutions in order to obtain the necessary information for the consolidated catalog.
  • 3
    Provide up-to-date information on the titles, authors and location of panoramas and dioramas in Russian for the database of the International Panorama Council.
  • 4
    Conduct a panel discussion dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Soviet artist E.I. Deshalyt.
  • 5
    Conduct a mandatory face-to-face meeting of the Sector.
